Showing Original Post only (View all)I wrote to NBC News regarding Kristen Welker calling Trump, "Mr. President" [View all]
Regarding Kristen Welkers interview with former president, Donald Trump, she continually called him, Mr. President. While it is acceptable to refer to a former president as (for example) President Trump, the title Mr. President is reserved for the current president.

I didn't address anything about why these news organizations keep giving him free publicity and a platform to lie. And why don't they interview President Biden and give him the same publicity?

Exactly. As far as I'm concerned, put trump on 24/7. He's not fooling anyone.

President Biden should demand equal time. Trump is a candidate for president, as is Biden.

No. The AP Style manual is the "bible" for journalists on these issues--whether print or television.

I agree. I think it is an ingratiating acquiescence to get the interviews/ensure access.

You need to stop. Nobody here likes Trump, but they call all former presidents that.
