4. Haven't seen shortages where I am

Prices went high quite a few years before COVID. I vaguely remember a major crop failure that the industry never quite bounced back from, thanks to climate change wreaking havoc with the traditional olive-growing regions.

But I haven't seen supply issues, or unusual price hikes. YMMV

Then again, we don't buy much of it, really, because the taste is so overpowering to my husband and me outside of Mediterranean dishes, where we expect it as part of the flavour profile. The bitterness of olive oil is why we tend to use more avocado and grapeseed oil instead.
