The fear, the anger, the resistance to demographic change are all part and parcel of the victimization quotient that MAGA clings to willingly. We need to face the fact that there is a wide swath of our own citizenry that openly welcomes the 'strongman' persona bc they know Trump will hurt the people they resent, will make them pay for whatever misfortune or unhappiness they've experienced. Republicans have decided to ride the tiger; as a minority party it's the only thing they've got and winning is everything.
This has less to do with economic insecurity and/or being left behind or any of those 'diner' conversations the press so eagerly ate up.
This is just plain old bigotry and hate from those who are convinced that 'others' are getting what they deserve as 'real' Americans. Wrap it up in patriotism and a distorted sense of Christianity, perfectly gift-wrapped. Then MAGAS get to feel righteous in their hate, ignorance and deluded perspective.
It's why the movement must be crushed. Before the madness destroys us all.
