DU POLL: Do you think what you do as a living relates to whom you are as an individual anymore? [View all]

When I was young I think for the most part what you did for a living related somewhat to whom you were as an individual ... direction in life, interests, talents, the essence of being, something like that ... I think today people are often totally dissociated between their personal life and their work life. I realize this is a broad brush, but I'm wondering what DU thinks.

I think for many people today their job has relatively little bearing as to whom they are as an individual. ... because jobs today are often just a way to get enough money to live/survive.
