The Rapeuglicans are pushing these measures in states where they control the legislature and the state house.

The Voting Rights Act is the only leverage we have left in (some of) those states, and that is about to go down too.

In states not covered by the VRA, there is nothing anyone on the Democratic side could do to "quash" this.
