I am trying to imagine if the Metropolitan Community Church (a church which largely caters to gays) [View all]

had the record that the Catholic Church has in regards to the sheltering of child molesters. I would think that most of those churches would have been burnt to the ground. I have to say it would be more likely that we would see cows give birth to aliens than we would see any politician of any stripe taking what the MCC said about any sexual or moral issue. But here we are listing to a group of men who conspired to hide child molesters by shuffling them from one diocese to another, then hired hardball lawyers to make suing the church a nightmare, and who have spent time and money lobbying legislatures so they can't be sued, oh and now they are vowing to take on a victim advocacy group and these are who we are listening to on issues of sexuality and morality. Really, we are listening to this group of people. Again, just imagine it was the MCC, no one would be listening.

Maybe a few decades after the last check to pay a victim for this conduct dries, this group of people can be listened to again. Until then, give me an ever loving break.
