6. In Georgia - at least the metro ATL, it isn't the local parties doing the grunt work

I'm not taking anything away from the dedicated Democrats who are involved at the county and state party levels but the county party has been mainly dysfunctional and the state party has had ethics issues.

There are several PACS and other organizations doing a lot of great work, though.
