(3,186 posts)That was done when LePage had an R state house and state senate (2010-2012). I don't recall there ever being actual citizens lobbying for this, so it must somehow, somewhere, benefit people/business owners with already deep pockets.
It's been horrible ever since then. I live near a lake, and there are yahoos from nearby towns who come here and have booming fireworks 'wars'. They go to the various public access swimming areas, and trash them w/beer cans and other garbage. At some point, someone will inevitably get hurt or worse. It surprises me that nothing terrible has happened already.
1 of my two cats who startles easily, as well as my dog, always have a very rough time with it. I don't particularly like the fireworks rattling my house (and my nerves) either.
