What Schumer did WAS betrayal and Democrats shouldn't forget or forgive... [View all]

Chuck Schumer is one of the more prominent voices in the Democratic Party. He's not just piss-ant senator from bumfuck Wyoming or Utah - he's one of the leading senators within his party and teed up to be potentially the next Minority/Majority Leader. His name, and position, carries far more clout nationally than, say, Joe Manchin.

His coming out against the deal won't kill it - but it makes it less a consensus and far more contentious. Schumer is openly defying his president and putting his support behind the Republicans in one of the most important foreign policy moments since the Iraq War.

But that's the thing - Schumer had no problem giving Bush what he wanted on Iraq. That's the contrast. The leading Democratic senator, the potential next Minority Leader, trusted Bush more in this arena than Obama.

That's not a good image to portray as Obama tries to sell this.

Ultimately, Schumer sold us out again. Just as he did with Obamacare (it was a mistake he said) and the Iraq War.

He should NOT be the next Minority Leader. At all. In fact, I question whether he should even remain in the senate.
