First, I'm quite sure that no rabbi is an authoritative source on "what her group believes" any more so than I would expect a Catholic priest to sort out who is a faithful Muslim.
Secondly, it is clear that the rabbi doesn't have much exposure to how these people deal with that particular passage. You can rest assured they feel no obligation to obey a government which requires them to do something contrary to any of their other beliefs.
Her group turned up to support her today outside of the courthouse, so it's a safe bet they don't agree with some outsider's opinion of what they are "supposed" to believe or do.
