political BS is a leftover remnant of the GOP wet dream to have a 100 year GOP dynasty. Tom Delay and Newt. They saw a way to gain political control of the country and pursued it through gerrymandering, lobbying, media control, and campaign finance laws...married to low tactics of polarization, fear, and hate (also perfected in Texas). The strategy worked to a large degree...real public discourse is wrecked, allowing one party to participate in the democratic process without a sense of responsibility to facts, problem solving, country, moral justice, history, public pressure, or reality.

They should be greeted on talk shows with ridicule and piercing questions...instead, they are offered a platform to provide 'balance' and reality show type horse race drama.

The problem is, we'd be much better off with two functioning, responsible political parties. We do a dis-service to democracy by pretending we have that.

Because politicians should definitely meddle in law enforcement decisions bucolic_frolic Jul 2016 #1
