2. If you had called into healthcare.gov by the limit they would extend you an extension

I know because I did it. I always have a hard time predicting my wages for the coming year. I had signed up but not yet chosen a plan and that's when my two part-time jobs asked me to up my hours for the coming year and have overloaded me this month. This means I will have to pay the overage and I needed to change my predictions so I called in and they said the phone lines were too busy and I left my name and number to receive a call in the next few days. I received a confirmation call to verify this the next day. Since I dropped my current plan at the end of November I now have until Jan something to pick a new plan.

I learned that if you want to change your plan you pretty much have to drop your plan by calling into healthcare.gov and cancelling to them and they will inform the insurance provider. If you do not do this your plan will roll over.

Since Trump has been in office I noticed that the GOP are literally blowing up healthcare from the inside out. The insurance companies now have more leeway. Last year I was re-policied 3 times with a huge jump each time and that meant each time they did this I lost any copays toward my total copay. What a rip-off. Under Obama they could not slight you for doing preventive tests. My doctor wanted a slew of tests done for people in their 50s like over-all eye health and colonoscopy etc. I did the over-all eye exam (which is covered by medical since it is not for glasses but merely predicts your chances of glaucoma etc). My insurance jumped the next month and I was re-polocied. I have been arguing with my doctor for the other tests and he finally understood when 9 months after the first referral the eye guy complained to my regular doctor that my insurance company has refused to pay the testing. THEY CALLED ME AND TOLD ME WHERE TO GO AND THE EYE OFFICE RECEIVED AN AUTHORIZATION CODE. They still have no evidence of this needed test.

I would be better off on my own since I have a fully loaded HSA card but it can't be used for the ACA and if you do use it for the dentist or scrips they fine you at tax time for not previously reporting the "earnings". Earnings my ass.

I am so depressed about this and was going to write to Franken to dispute some things in his latest book but then, well you know.

I am thinking of opting out and just paying the fine.

Another thing that will implode the ACA is that in Michigan the auto insurers are pressing you to have your medical insurance instead of auto insurance be the first thing in case of an auto accident. What the hell is going on???????????????????

They are determined to take you into poverty and keep you there. It is the most upsetting thing for me. I noticed it has created a whole underground wage market where people are working off the books as to not raise their wages on the marketplace. This isn't good for anyone.
