Depending on the website, Orc KIA range from 50,000 to 500,000. Of course the higher number is provided by Ukraine. The Ukraine estimate could be accurate, but it's likely somewhere in between. I wish there were a reliable source.

I've been watching this conflict on various platforms. It seems to me that, as in WW2, the Russian tactic seems to be to throw as much meat into a frontal assault as possible, thereby overwhelming those they are attacking. As that might have worked in the 1940's, military's around the world have become much more effective develop killing capabilities.

Where is the Russian Air Force? Where are all these hypersonic missiles? They're using 40-80 year old tanks. They're using Iranian drones. They're importing ammunition from North Korea for crying out loud.

I can imagine that even the Russian high command will act if the cost starts to outweigh the gains. For most of the Russian leaders since 1918, the end has not been pleasant. This is my hope for Vladdy.

I feel bad for the Russian people. They had a chance for real change during Gorbachev's tenure. But they needed guidance which they never really received after being told how to think for generations.

I write this with the knowledge that U.S. history has more than it's fair share of misdeeds. But the Holomodor? The Russian army's modus operandi purposefully attacking and destroying civilian infrastructure, the purposeful theft of children, purposeful rape, and purposeful outright murder of non-combatants is unforgiveable.

I'm glad frozen Russian assets will help fund Ukraine's defense. I'm glad to hear the age old Ukraini warning to invaders to please place sunflower seeds in your pockets before arriving in Ukraine. Prigozhin was on the right track. But he was only one of a long list of Russian oligarchs that have mysteriously died over the last four or five years.

I don't think Putler is going to stop at Ukraine.
