...conservatives live on with cognitive dissonance. Many refuse to link the NRA and Republican party as partners. Instead, they rely on rationalization of their ideology claiming that the NRA just follows those who support their pro-gun cause.

It's quite obvious, to anyone paying attention, that the Republican Party will do the bidding of the NRA and corporations, in general.
