I feel for the government workers who put the time and energy into working for the state and city. It is a shame that people were so dead set against selling the art. That at least would have alleviated some of the debt the city of Detroit had. I am not sure what people are willing to do to lower the cost of the bankruptcy onto the pension earners laps. It seems that most people are protecting what they feel is important and not giving an inch to help the government retirees. I have no dog in this fight but just looking at it from an outsider. This is a time for the people of Detroit and state of Illinois to come together and make choices that don't just hurt one group.
