Was a better book than the movie. Reading the story, put more of a spotlight on the housekeepers and nannies of color, not being allowed to use the bathrooms, in the homes, in which they worked. Part of the subplot was a woman who was promoting out door restrooms for the help, to be built out in the yard.

Same kind of hateful ignorant, bigotry.

I had a wonderful friend when I was a HS senior. He was a year younger than me and a trans male. He was a size smaller than me, and looked way better in a skirt and pumps. You could not tell he was not a she. He felt like a girl and dressed like a girl and was super boy crazy. He would not have been going in the girls room to see girl junk. He would have far been more interested in what he might see in the men's room. That's what I think. Plus who goes anywhere like that to snoop in stalls.
