I remember getting together with high school buddies on early Saturday afternoons and playing Axis and Allies for hours. Loved that game.

Risk was our favorite. Also played Stratego, Dogfight, Clue, Monopoly, and Scrabble.

Stratego, and later Risk. (And Chess, but that's not what I think of when I think kid's board game).
