you should look up "elevatorgate" and "Rebecca Watson". Apparently these conferences have been hotbeds of sexism and sexual harassment. I personally don't care what someone does or doesn't believe in as long as they treat people decently and don't try to shove their beliefs down other's throats. It sounds like there's some real dysfunction in the skeptic/atheist communities though, especially where gender is concerned.
