12. Hell yes, I'm sensitive

Because I don't have a CHOICE. It isn't like I can change my sex or color - actually I choose not to change my gender. Race is something else. I don't get the choice to ignore racism or misogyny. It comes looking for me. AND my kids. And my parents.

And I have just as much a right to be here and call out white privilege, as you do to share your thoughts. Where do you get off telling me to go away because I point out an inconvenient truth?

I've just given you a gift. You can choose to learn from it, or you can continue along the same path and choose to continue making the same tone-deaf mistakes around people of color.

I have a storm to prepare for. But I'll be sure to inform my kids that any future concerns they express about the hypocrisy of our founding fathers will be seen as little more than bellyaching and 'kvetching' by their fellow citizens.
