There has been some rampant bashing of Democrats in this forum, and it should stop [View all]

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Hassin Bin Sober (a host of the 2016 Postmortem forum).

Lately, I feel like DU has become "Back Bernie or else", and it reminds me of the 2008 Primaries.

If Hillary Clinton gets an endorsement, it is not really her accolade, it's because the Bernie supporters weren't heard.

There are other candidates that should be vetted by us (O'Malley, etc) but this place seems to subscribe to "Bullying for Bernie" like some extremist Christians do "lying for the Lord". If a poll shows Clinton in the lead, they will post "Bernie is gaining on her" and if you point out "She's still ahead", you are persona non grata.

What gives?

Is this place Democratic Underground, or not? Because I haven't decided yet, but all of the brow beating is leading me away from Sanders, because his supporters should not have to constantly bash one in order to lift up the other.

I encouraged my own mother for YEARS to come here and participate at DU. A few days ago, she opened an account. What I described above regarding the polls is what happened on a thread in which she participated. She was banned. Let me let you know that my mother is far to the left of me, and probably most here at DU. But she pointed out that while Bernie is gaining, he is still behind Clinton. She used no cuss words. She was banned.

What gives?

Is this the anti-Clinton Underground? Is it the all Bernie Underground? Is it ok to point out there there are actually other candidates that deserve some due diligence? Did the rules change making it OK to bash Democrats in this forum? Do other posters here think they are the arbiter of what a Democrat is (i.e., you don't think you're bashing a Democrat when you bash HRC because you've decided she isn't a *real* Democrat, so you aren't really bashing?

I am just trying to understand what's going on here, because there seem to be some unwritten rules that have been implemented, and I think it's important to talk about what they are, and how we can move forward in this
