(115,740 posts)29. What bothers me about this isn't that Bloomberg is "circumventing the electoral process,"
because he really isn't. In our deeply-flawed political system, though, money can buy a lot of publicity and effectively drown out the voices of less well-funded candidates. I don't think Bloomberg will be able to win the nomination despite his ad buys, but if he really wants to be sure a Democrat defeats Trump, he should spend that money on GOTV or donating generously to PACs supporting other campaigns, or advertising for liberal causes.
