Let's take Trump/GOP at their word

Two things that have emerged from the debates this week about gun violence from our President and the ruling Party:
1) Gun free zones are a stupid idea that is patently dangerous and makes the location inviting to gun violence, and,
2) The Democrats/Liberals/Elites only use the gun issue for political purposes.

Here is a proposal to remove any hint of hypocrisy and bullshit from their narrative:
Have the NRA and GOP headquarters, as well as any conferences or gatherings of those two groups, post signs at every entrance that say "CONCEALED AND OPEN CARRY OF FIREARMS ENCOURAGED AT THIS LOCATION."

That would clearly make the venues safer, and protect them from armed assaults by the mentally ill, ISIS, liberals or George Soros. And it would show that they, unlike their opponents, have a position of philosophical consistency and not political expediency.

I have brought this up to several gun humpers and the only reply is that I am clearly not being serious. Why, when this is in complete agreement with their stated views, would they not prove it and quit hiding behind a "No Guns Allowed" policy like a scared elementary school student?

plastic bags and Trump's GOP

This is really distressing. I saw a headline a few days ago about the South Carolina House considering a bill on banning the use of one-time plastic bags. Today I saw the bill has passed and been sent on to the Senate, but (sigh) the bill is to BAN local governments from regulating or banning the use of the bags, an action which several coastal cities and counties are considering because of the horrible impact this trash has when it gets into our water systems.
Of course this was a GOP-inspired move. The GOP, you know those guys right? The ones who are always telling you that the Federal Government is an over-reaching totalitarian force and that government that is closer to the people is always the more prudent and democratic? Why won't they just admit that their core political philosophy is now: "Who will pay me now or hire me later?"

Does he know he is dead?

Trump just tweeted a Happy Birthday to our 40th President, Ronald Reagan.

My son lost his cable TV

During the end of the double overtime OK-GA game. He texted me that “it’s like being trapped in the 20th Century.”
Funny till I realized how long ago the 20th Century was. Someone in their mid-40s has lived half their conscious life after the 20th Century.

Just had a Eggs Benedict served on a hubcap

I hope this is a joke.....

A man awakes in a hospital bed with his wife sitting next to him. "What happened?" he asks. "The last thing I remember is going to the Apple Store to get you the new iPhone X for Christmas."
"You were in a horrible car wreck," she answers. "A drunk driver ran across the centerline and hit you head on. You've been in a coma for almost a year, but they told me it looked like you were about to wake up."
He thinks about this for a moment, and then his first question is, "Is Trump still in office?"
"Yes, but not for long. The Democrats took back the House and Senate in a landslide last month, so as soon as the new Congress is sworn in the impeachment hearings will begin."
"Well, did we go to war with Korea? Is the economy in shambles?"
"No, the Chinese and others have managed to keep the lid on the Korean situation, and the disastrous tax reform was just starting to hurt the economy when the Democrats won the election so the stock market hasn't crashed and, overall, the economy is still in pretty good shape. But he sure managed to screw up a lot of things in two years."
He smiles, and says, "We had just had our house appraised at $200,000 since we were thinking about selling; has it kept its value?"
"Well, that's hard to say," she replies.
"Why? What is its current appraisal?"
"Oh," she replies, "The last time I checked it was about Twelve Million Rubles."

Trump tweets...

My daughter asked me if I had heard that Twitter was going to allow 240 characters.
She knows I am obsessed with disdain for Trump. I offered her this limerick:

There once was a man named Trump,
Who tweeted while taking a dump.
But if he stayed seated
While he double tweeted
He might get hemorrhoids on his rump.

A lot of conspiracy theories here tonight

I just watched 15 minutes of FOX and, while they weren’t involved, they couldn’t be happier or more relieved. They hate to be on the defensive and making absolute asses of themselves by distracting with cheeseburger emojis.
Now, they have a real story to use as an angry distraction, and nothing even happened about Trump after all. In just a few minutes I heard: this is why we need a wall; this is why we need Muslim surveillance; NYC liberals have dismantled their anti-terrorism tools; hate; fear; and who was President when this guy came here in 2010.
Guarantee you there are high-fives and a sense of relief in the White House tonight.

A serious concern about current events

I watched Hannity for about 5 minutes saying that this travesty of justice was final proof that there are two standards of justice, with Democrats and liberals getting away with everything. I just can't figure out why that is when they have the House, the Senate, the White House, the Justice Department and their own TV network.
Let's hope that we can end his reign - whether it's in months or at the end of his term - without him killing us all out of spite, hubris and ignorance.
