Why did the founders set it up to where the President would appoint the AG?

This seems like a recipe for disaster because if the President is like Trump and fires everyone who doesn't bow down to him and clearly makes sure he puts a patsy in place, the system crumbles like day old sandwich bread.

The AG should be someone completely independent and not hired by the President but by the Congress it seem.

Is there something I don't understand?

Twitter Users Show Donald Trump Jr. Just How Dumb He Looks In Mueller Report

This entire article is priceless!

One Twitter user told the president’s son: “You were vindicated because they determined you were too stupid to know what’s going on.”

Donald Trump Jr.’s comment on the Mueller report has some Twitter users dumbfounded because his reaction suggests how dumb he may actually be.

Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team of investigators declined to prosecute President Donald Trump’s eldest son for campaign finance violations mainly because they concluded he was too ignorant to have knowingly committed a crime, according to RawStory.com

Trump Jr., though, seemed to have missed that point when he sent out this celebratory tweet upon Thursday’s release of Mueller’s report:

SCIENTISTS JUST INSERTED A HUMAN INTELLIGENCE GENE INTO MONKEYS

By: Gaia Staff | April 16, 2019

A team of Chinese scientists recently inserted copies of a human gene believed to be associated with intelligence, into the brains of rhesus monkeys in an attempt to narrow the intellectual evolutionary gap. And according to their results, monkeys who were introduced to MCPH1 showed “remarkable” improvements in short-term memory.

The experiment sparked similar ethical concerns as when a Chinese scientist modified the genes of a human baby late last year, using CRISPR technology to give it HIV immunity.

But despite the dreadful image of an ape with near-human sentience, à la Cornelius from Planet of the Apes, the study arouses some interesting relevance to the ancient astronaut theory that humans may have been seeded by an advanced species from elsewhere in the cosmos.

Unlike the incredibly extensive amount of time it takes for most physical traits to evolve, the human brain’s evolution happened extraordinarily fast. In the span of about two to three million years – a blip on evolutionary timelines – our brains doubled in size, and subsequent intellect. What was the catalyst for such rapid growth? Did someone introduce some gene(s) to our ancient hominid ancestors, like Australopithecus, which turned us into the intelligent Homo sapiens we are today?

In Mueller report is evidence of a conspiracy, obstruction of justice: Judge Napolitano

Video at link: https://video.foxbusiness.com/v/6019307750001/#sp=show-clips

Here is another clip with the judge at a Newsweek link which is a couple of days old:

FOX NEWS LEGAL ANALYST PREDICTS FULL MUELLER REPORT WILL BE RELEASED AFTER FEDERAL JUDGE ORDER

Snip: Speaking with America’s Newsroom host Bill Hemmer about the much-anticipated report, which will be released on Thursday, Napolitano said he believes Attorney General William Barr will redact more than 100 pages of the almost 400-page document. The former New Jersey Superior Court judge argued that Barr would do this in line with legal requirements and that “all the meaty stuff that everyone wants to know about” would be “blacked out.”

“Our wish to know about it is not enough for him to fail to black it out,” Napolitano explained. “He doesn’t have the authority. Only a federal judge can override the requirements of redaction,” he pointed out.

The former judge then explained what he believes will unfold after the redacted report is released. “The House Judiciary committee will subpoena it,” he said. “The attorney general’s not gonna sit on a subpoena, he’s going to take it to a federal judge and say ‘quash this.’ And she’ll say: ‘I’m not gonna quash it. I’m going to authorize and order you to release it in full.’”

“I honestly think that will happen,” Napolitano said confidently.

Can't a Dem Senator or Congressperson check to see if Trump is under audit?

We all know he is not but it would be nice to have it out there as fact that he is lying and the next time he says it, a reporter can say, "Why the fuck are you lying? That has been checked and we know for a fact your not under audit? Why all the lying sir?"

Reporters keep mentioning Cohen saying he isn't under audit but why not go find out officially?

Was the audience at the Sanders / Fox News town hall random Fox viewers or people who already like

Sanders? I googled a bit but could not find anything. If that was random folks then holy crap Sanders is resonating far and wide! If not and they were Sanders supporters who went because they like Sanders, then it probably doesn't mean much.

Anyone know?

Can Congress force Trump to hand over his tax returns? I asked 11 legal experts.

Probably, but it’s complicated.
By Sean Illing@seanillingsean.illing@vox.com Apr 9, 2019, 1:50pm EDT

Presidential candidates are not required by law to release tax returns, but every major-party nominee in modern American history has done so. Until Donald Trump.

Trump’s refusal to adhere to this norm has set up a potential legal fight between Congress and the White House.

Last week, Rep. Richard Neal (D-MA), who chairs the House Ways and Means Committee, sent a letter to the IRS formally requesting Trump’s federal income tax returns going back to 2013. The request also demands the returns for eight other entities linked to Trump.

In the letter, Neal claims that Congress “has a duty to conduct oversight of departments and officials,” and in this case, that duty involves evaluating the IRS policy to audit all presidents’ tax returns. The letter cites an obscure 1924 law that gives the House Ways and Means Committee the power to request tax returns from the Treasury Department for review in closed session.

Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff, said during an interview on Fox News Sunday that Democrats will “never” see Trump’s tax returns, insisting that the tax issue “was already litigated during the election.”

So where does this leave us? Does Congress have the right to demand Trump’s tax returns? And if the Treasury Department refuses to hand them over, what happens next?

To get some answers, I reached out to 11 legal experts. Their full responses, edited for clarity and length, are below.
