Nothing Jesus said was anti gay, so they do not have a leg to prop up their homophobic bigotry anymore. I have had a couple try to squirm their way out of it, but for them, it all comes down to one thing alone - bigotry of their own making, and using their religion as an excuse.
I have a relative who long ago tried to spew that "gay agenda / gays are sinners / gays are sick" mess at me. I did not reply. I pulled out my checkbook and said, I'll give you $350 for your oldest daughter. Relative looked stunned so I said, "OK, I'll go to $400 and I will promise to take good care of her and just make her cook and clean and shop. And i will give her a small salary and a room of her own inside the house" She said "what?" So I said "well I would like to buy your daughter for a slave, as sanctioned in Exodus 21, and I think $400 is a fair price and you can even come and see her once a month, if you like. If you use the Bible to justify your dislike of gay people then you cannot cherry pick and ignore other passages, like this one in Exodus, which I will gladly invoke because I need some help". Relative never said a word to me about gays after that.
