They dont kill themselves first because in their minds they have a score to settle with those who wronged them. They could also be suffering and want to drag others down with them. If they are going to commit suicide, they have nothing to lose by killing others first. Their victims deaths are a bonus to them. The killers get to exert power over others that theyve never had.
If your question was rhetorical, I apologize.
