In reply to the discussion: Putin Claims 'Gay Nazis' Behind Ukrainian Unrest [View all]mississippi62
(75 posts)Would not surprise me if Family Research Council has a hand in this. I follow their Washington operations on twitter @FRCdc . They have posted several tweets in support of Putin and condemning pro-Kiev factions.
The Family Research Council was instrumental in crafting anti-gay laws in Uganda and RFRA legislation in the U.S. Tony Perkins, president of the FRC, was invited to be part of very small group who attended the signing of SB2681 in Mississippi. Uganda was only a test site for institutionalized discrimination. Mississippi served as a willing guinea pig for U.S. action. Although a similar bill failed in AZ, FRC learned their lesson and now know how to target states that are vulnerable to this type of propaganda. FRC is like a Hydra - when you cut off one avenue of political influence, they grow other connections and ultimately become stronger.
Although the Koch brothers have attracted a lot of attention as the "bad guys" of GOP dark money, the real threat comes from FRC. They actively craft legislation. And they are motivated not by greed but by ideology. The FRC makes no secret of their intent to "Christianize" the U.S. political system. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
