In a recent sermon she titled "Nobody’s Perfect" and delivered at Willow Grove United Methodist Church, the pastor of Upper Moreland’s longest-running church preached on why her church’s General Conference got it wrong with its stance on homosexuality.

Methodists have been debating their church stand on homosexuality for four decades. Other mainline Protestant denominations — including the Episcopal Church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and the United Church of Christ— have in recent years moved toward accepting gay and lesbian couples. The United Church of Christ has gone the farthest by affirming gay marriage.

Being raised UCC in New England my perspective is perhaps a bit different from what is in your local area. Atleast around here there is widespread support in the liberal denominations for Affirmation of Marriage Equality.
