So disgusted with Adam Schiff right now
Slate: Republicans hate Adam Schiff. The feeling isnt mutual.
. The rights villainization did nothing but help Schiff. The congressman parlayed his role as House impeachment manager into a national profile and a near permanent guest slot on MSNBC; he used his censure vote to appeal to Democratic donors nationwide, amassing a $35 million war chest. For a House rep who has never run a competitive race, thats unthinkable cashmoney that is underwriting his current Senate campaign. And now, as that races election day in California nears, Schiff is using those millions to
elevate his Trump-voting Republican opponent and juice Republican turnout.
Its a diabolical election gambit made possible by Californias jungle primary system, a crowded Democratic field, and the one-party nature of California politics (along with a little bit of Schiffs own shamelessness). Rather than the traditional, discreet Democratic and Republican primaries leading to a red-vs.-blue November general, the race to replace the deceased Dianne Feinstein will be a November runoff between the top two vote getters in March 5s primary, regardless of party. Schiff is working hard to ensure that hes in the top two; hes working even harder to ensure that Republican Steve Garvey is also.
According to seemingly all available polling, Schiff holds a narrow lead over fellow congressional Democrats Katie Porter and Barbara Lee. California is effectively a one-party state, and only a Democrat can realistically win statewide, aided by the fact that the states Republican Party is largely dysfunctional. Facing a Republican in the runoff would be a sure victory for any Democrat. But if Schiff heads to a runoff against Porter or Lee, the race will be competitive and brutal; some polling shows Schiff losing to Porter head-to-head.
In an expensive, glossy direct-mail campaign, Schiff is also sending mailers to Republican voters highlighting Garvey. The top of one flyer features side-by-side headshots of Schiff and Garvey and highlights Garvey as getting 19 percent of the vote compared to Schiffs 28 percent, well within striking distance, beneath the header Two Leading Candidates for United States Senate. Theres not a mean word about Garvey on the front; flip it over, and theres Garveys curriculum vitae, a former Major League Baseball player, currently a businessman and philanthropist
voted for Donald Trump twice.

Im livid and regretting that I EVER gave money to this man (I do not live in his district). Donations to Democratic candidates should be spent on GOTV efforts FOR DEM CANDIDATES.
I am aware that Dems have been doing this in other states only it was propping up an extreme MAGA candidate to improve the chances of the Dem winning in the general. But as the article goes on to point out, this unbelievably self-serving move for a statewide race threatens all number of down-ballot races. All because Schiff wants to coast to victory in November.
I needed a list like this. Sharing this thread here in case you did, too.
Let's start a list of things trump has exposed that we need to fix:
1. Cable TV news-bring back fairness doctrine?
2. Background checks for ALL candidates running?
3. Mandatory tax returns shared with public?
4. 5 independent doctors do periodic exams, results shared publicly?

Some very legitimate concerns
Posting as someone who supported Bernie in the 2016 cycle, these are my key concerns with
Bernies quest this time around:
1. He is not being transparent with his health
2. He is not being transparent with his funding and his Our Revolution Super PAC thats not a Super PAC (particularly because the FEC accounting for campaign contributions wont be done until AFTER the election in November)
3. His potential selection of Tulsi Gabbard as VP (see concern #1 above)
4. An assumption (conveyed by members of his campaign) that Warren voters will transfer to him if Warren drops out

Wondering where everyone has gone
There was a great deal of participation in this forum a few months ago. But now...the number of undecided has remained steady, while the percentage of supporters/traffic to this forum has dwindled considerably.
Why is this so?
Looking at engagement for the first page of results, I see that there are a relatively small number of posters making the majority of the posts.
While the tone in this forum is nowhere near as 🔥 as it was in 2016, I have noticed that there are a few voices who spend a lot of time here, make a lot of posts, and are kind of dominating all of the conversations here as a result.
I get that some posters are very enthusiastic about their candidates. As someone from a deep blue region of a very blue state, I am very familiar with what an echo chamber looks like. But as you may recall from 2008 and 2016, there is a lot of ball game left to play.
Sothis is for you posters with posts in the 5 digitsbefore you rush to share the latest polling data that favors your candidate, maybe take a lap and let someone elsesomeone undecidedhave a moment to post what they think. Let the newer participants ask a question, and chill while someone who might also be undecided answer with their own framing and opinions. Lets try to make this forum an open and inviting place to share all opinions, so that maybe we can see that undecided number start to move down and numbers of different posters move up.
Show of hands: what's your social media of choice?
And do you think your candidate is getting fair treatment on your chosen platform?
If not, how are you choosing to engage?
